By now, most attendees of ICANN’s 40th Public Meeting probably know that Vint Cerf is speaking Monday night as a featured guest of the NARALO Showcase. If Vint’s history of helping found the Internet interests you, we have an additional treat in store.

Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn co-authored the technical foundation of the Internet, the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Jim Trengrove, former producer of the McNeil/Lehrer News Hour, has recently produced a delightful interview with Mr. Cerf and Mr. Kahn. In this richly human conversation, the “Fathers of the Internet” reminisce candidly on how the Internet came to be – and, as college students, how unwitting they were that their experimentation would change the world. Expertly produced at the television studios of WETA in Washington, D.C., Fathers of the Internet: From Evolution to Revolution will make its worldwide debut tonight, just before the NARALO Showcase.

Vint Cerf speaks tonight as part of the NARALO Showcase at 18:00 in Alexandra’s, on the 32nd floor of the Westin St. Francis on Union Square. To enjoy tales from these historical figures of the Internet, in a video not available anywhere else, simply show up an hour early. Fathers of the Internet: From Evolution to Revolution will begin playing in an adjoining room at 17:00.
