ARIN NomCom Call for Volunteers

For the first time ever, ’s 2010 election will have a Committee (NomCom). Apparently this is one of several changes we will see in this year’s election cycle:

Based on community input collected during the last election cycle, the Board of Trustees reviewed the election process and is working to put improvements in place and announce them to the community prior to the Call for Nominations on 12 July.

We look forward to announcing further election process related improvements in early July.

The Committee shall be responsible for identifying, recruiting, and certifying a properly selected slate of Trustee and Advisory Council Candidates to be placed in before the membership for election. (Bylaws, Article VIII, Section 2.a.)

To address some of the community input with regard to the nominations process, the Board created a Charter that provides more guidelines and greater transparency with regard to the committee’s composition and scope of responsibility. The new charter is available at:

The consists of two (2) representatives from the Board of Trustees, two (2) representatives from the Advisory Council, and three (3) representatives from in good standing. General Member in good standing is defined at:

will soon issue a call for nominations for the 2010 Board of Trustees and Advisory Council elections.

We are currently seeking three (3) volunteer in good standing to serve on the Committee. Please note that candidates for this year’s Board of Trustees and Advisory Council elections are not eligible to serve on the . If you are willing to serve, please submit your name, e-mail address, member organization name, and ORG ID to
info@.net no later than 17:00 ET on Friday, June 18 2010. Three eligible member will be randomly selected to serve on the Committee.

As always – we highly encourage our members to help their community by volunteering for positions like this. If you are (or work for) an General Member, think about throwing your hat into the ring.
